Alice and her friends aren’t the only ones that have tea parties these days. This 1/4-sheet chocolate cake was baked for a 13th birthday/tea party in Fullerton, CA. Complete with a teapot,  cups, and cookies-this cake was a hit from the moment they saw it.  It looks like, with the right creativity, a Wonderland tea party can occur wherever, whenever you want it. =)

High flying Birthday Cake for a Special Grandson turning 2

Friday, May 7th, 2010

Everyone has their favorite movie growing up. For Patty’s Grandson Ethan that movie is Disney-Pixar’s “UP.” Excited to go above and beyond to make a special cake for his 2nd birthday, she set out to create the balloon lifted house from the movie. The house is made of entirely of chocolate and white cake. The balloons have a styrofoam core with frosting on the outside to create the colorful balloons. Like 99% of her cakes, no fondant was used, just smooth icing. The party was held at Hillcrest Park in Fullerton, and what a beautiful day it was to have an outdoor birthday party.
