Look no more! Patty has the BEST cake and cupcakes you will ever find. They are absolutely delectable. These cakes have been a part of every family milestone including my wedding. I prefer the chocolate cake with bavarian custard or raspberry filling. My husband prefers the lemon cake. Don’t forget to teat yourself to a yummy cake ball when visiting, my children love the confetti cake balls while I look forward to the Germans Chocolate. All this typing and I didn’t even mention the super friendly and helpful staff. All around better than 5 stars!

I never heard of cake calls before? Put simply they are very much like cake pops without the stick. However the cake balls at Patty’s are just phenomenal. My husband who is way over the cupcake craze and isn’t really into sweets loves the German chocolate cake ball while I adore the red velvet one. We got other flavors (banana, chocolate chip, confetti, and chocolate) and all of them tasted great. Moist, perfect dense was, and yummy coating. Each ball was $3.00 and so much better than small measly cake pops :-) would highly recommend.

This place is awesome. Their check-in offer is amazing. The cupcakes are so delectable. The cake pops are so rich and HUGE. It’s a cute little shop with lots of character. Be careful about coming later in the day, though. They only make a certain amount of flavors and types each day, so once they’re out, they’re out for the day! Don’t get your heart set. I’ve tried so many different flavors here and haven’t been disappointed by any. I love that they frost the cupcakes to order so it’s the freshest possible cupcake you could have. My favorite cake ball is the German Chocolate. You really can’t go wrong by coming here. If I had a special occasion coming up, I’d definitely get some cupcakes or cake balls from them.

Very tasty sweets! I ordered a box (9) cake balls, trying all available flavors. The best ones, I would say, are the red velvet, German chocolate with almonds, lemon and s’mores. The cake balls are very moist, but not mushy. Sweet and rich, so cake balls are more fitting than having a cupcake if you want a sweet snack/dessert (a cupcake might equal a meal because they’re so filling.) I’ve heard nothing but praise when my guests enjoy some of Patty’s cakes.

In a small plaza of mostly closed businesses, it’s conveniently located on Commonwealth, and parking is a breeze to find. More affordable than other designer cupcakeries, but quality and customer service is still present.

[Review] Scouting for A wedding baker!

Visited Patty’s Cakes while scouting for wedding baker. We didn’t schedule an appointment or anything, just walked in to get more info about orders & pricing.

Space was small. Storefront was probably about 8X11′ One display area, which is also cashier. No seating area really, you have a picnic table that can seat 3-4 for scheduled tasting. Display is mainly cake balls. cupcakes are in the back as you order to go/pickup.

We asked for info and was told that Patty would be best person to give us the stuffs. We waited about 5 minutes, Patty came out with full energy! She apologized for the wait, letting us know that she’s working on a cake for, I believe, Sunday morning. She apologized again that she won’t have much time to spend with us as she likes, but definitely can give us info.

Patty also offered some tastings for us. Gave us the pricing based on what we’re thinking. I ordered additional cake balls.

Patty gave us a demo mini chocolate cupcake to show how it would be dec up. She put some edible mini pearls and glitter on it really quick. So cute and pretty. We also had the regular-size banana cupcake, raspberry chambord, lemon, chocolate, and chocolate and coconut.

Cake balls: German Chocolate, banana, lemon.

They were all amazing! so good and fluffy! The cake balls we moist too. Banana cake ball was a bit sweet for me, but banana taste was, vivid. My favs were raspberry chambord, lemon on both cake ball & cupcake. The banana cupcake was very good too, but I like the cream on top better.

I have to admit that for those with regular frosting, there were a lot. So we just ate it without lol. The cupcakes themselves were good stuffs.

I appreciate Patty’s energy and attention, even though we didn’t have an appointment, we left the place really wanting to work with Patty for the wedding. The only problem is it’s further than the venue than I thought. Wedding is on Sunday, and they don’t deliver to the venue due to distance, so we’ll have to have someone pick it up. This is the only reason why I’m scouting for others that are closer.

If I’ll be in the area, definitely will park by Patty’s to visit and get some goodies.

This was my first visit and I was pleasently suprised. We ordered the rocky road and german chocolate cake balls and they were amazing, cant wait to try the other flavors. I also ordered 3 different cupcakes and they were all moist and by far the best cupcakes I have had. Loved the suprise in the middle!

Ordered cupcakes for the office for the months b-days. I ordered a few of each and all were well received. The c-cakes were moist and flavorful and therte is a great selection of frostings. The gentleman helping me was very helpful and courteous. While I was waiting for my order I tried one a German Chocolate cake ball and it was very flavorful. I didn’t know what to expect but it was very dense and rich and went down great. All of the office mates gave it a thumbs up.

Used a ‘groupon coupon’ for Patty’s to purchase 12 assorted cake balls for my grandson’s 10th birthday – lemon, german chocolate, s’mores and red velvet. I personally got to taste a bite of all but the lemon. And they rocked. Not knowing what to expect, I was pleasantly surprised at the truffle-like content of the cakeballs. Very original creation! I do have to admit when my husband got home with the box of 12 cakeballs, I was a little disappointed at the size of them, but since they are so dense and rich, I see why they are sized as such. Any way, now I cannot wait to get back to Patty’s to try some of the other treats on the menu.
